Gardening Services

Life is so busy now-a-days that many of us can't even find time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.  Gardening is a very restful and enjoyable hobby to to be involved in but you might be so busy that you can't find the time to maintain and work in a garden.  Let alone, even have the time to start one.

When you don't have the time, but are willing to pay someone else, then you need to consider hiring a gardening service, also known as nurseries and landscaping services.  Just what are the services that you might find in such a company?  Each company will be different and each will offer variations from what another company offers.  Prices will also vary.

Consulting:
A good gardening service will have a consultant or professional landscaper on their staff with whom you can communicate and then they will give you ideas on things that you can do with your yard and garden.  They will give you information and might have photographs of other gardens to give you examples of what you can do, but you will get to make the decisions.

Cleanup:
Some companies will do the preparation work needed to get your area ready for a garden, such as removing weeds, trees and shrubs and maybe building materials such as stones, concrete, or wood decks.

Landscape Design:
With Landscape design services, you would have the staff person come look at your yard and you will provide them with some criteria as to what you want your garden to look like.  Things like the general look, overall coloration, if you want more trees and bushes or more flowers, and locations and dimensions. 

If you have a plot of your lot, this would be very helpful to them.  If you don't, then they will have to take the measurements of your yard, house and other fixed objects in your yard so they can draw up an existing layout plan.  From this plan they will be able to create a new landscape design, complete with the specific locations of your garden and any additional trees, flowers or shrubs that they recommend you plant on your lot.

Once the design is completed, many companies will not charge you for the design work if you hire them to implement the design that they created.  If you want to do some of the work yourself, then you might have to pay them for part or all of their design services.

Landscaping Services:
Landscaping services can be thought of as falling into two major categories:  Hard landscaping and Soft landscaping:

1. Hard Landscaping would involve major changes in the look of your yard.  Things like leveling the ground or building hills, building a pond, building rock or stone terrace walls, and laying stone or brick pavers.
    
2. Soft Landscaping services would include things like soil preparation, composting or mulching, planting grass, laying sod,  planting the flowers in your garden, chemical treatments for the grass and bushes as well as using chemicals to kill weeds.

Garden Structures:
Some gardening services or landscape companies will also have garden structures that can enhance the beauty of your garden.  Things like Gazebos, Ornamental Pergolas, Fencing, Statues, Sitting Benches, Waterfalls and Bird Feeders.

Plants:
And of course, most Gardening Services will carry a wide variety of plants for your garden.  They should have the basics like perennials, annuals, shrubs, evergreens and trees.  Using their services to do the planting will save you hours of time and hard work, but this is one way to get the garden of your dreams even if you don't have the time to do it yourself.

Also if you hire a gardening service to do the plant installations, they should, and generally will guarantee the installation, so if any of your plants die, they will replace them for free.  This is assuming that you have done the necessary watering.  You'll need to check with each company and see just what their guarantee is.

Using a gardening service that does the planning, preparation and planting is a hassle free way to go.  You can even retain their services to do the regular maintenance like weed removal, maintaining the ph balance in your soil, chemical treatments for disease and bugs, and adding fertilizer. 

It's a real joy to have a well kept garden and watching it come up in the spring gives you a wonderful feeling.  To get the Gardening Services that you need and can pay for, check your phone book and give your local nurseries and landscape companies a call.  Tell them what you'd like to have done and see if they can do it for you.  Check with several companies so you can compare their prices and services.

Better yet, check with your friends and neighbors and ask them if they can recommend any gardening service companies.  Knowing that you are talking with a company that has satisfied customers will ease your concerns and this will be a much better guarantee that you will also be a satisfied customer.

Gardening doesn’t get much better than this.
